What?
The ID Trim swivel chair prioritises both comfort and visual appeal. The design provides the plush comfort typically associated with upholstered chairs. Yet it maintains a slim, sleek profile that we like, in the same fashion similar to that of mesh-backed alternatives.
Interestingly, the ID Trim’s design draws inspiration from classic Chesterfield sofas, known for their quilted leather upholstery.
Why?
The ID Trim’s iconic status is attributed to its perfect balance of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. The chair’s backrest, with its quilted appearance, exudes elegance while still providing ergonomic support for those long hours of use. The esthetic charm and functional excellence makes the ID Trim a standout piece in any office setting.
We’ve learnt that the chair’s quilted pattern not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also enhances the structural integrity of the padding, ensuring long-lasting comfort and durability.
Who?
“It conveys a sense of classic elegance and quality craftsmanship.”
When?
The ID Trim was launched in 2010 as a part of Vitra’s comprehensive ID Chair Concept, a collection that includes various models tailored to meet different ergonomic needs and design preferences.
The introduction of the ID Trim L variant, which features a higher backrest, further expanded the range, providing additional neck and upper back support. We feel that this evolution highlights Vitra’s commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation to user needs. It is also a contributing factor to our extensive use of ID Trim in our projects.
How?
The chair’s design includes optional armrests and can be configured with either a low or high backrest, accommodating various body types and preferences. These features work together to promote a healthy sitting posture, reduce physical strain, and enhance overall productivity throughout the workday.
Vitra has gone to great length with their FlowMotion mechanism. It is inspired by the smooth, natural movements of the human body, aiming to provide seamless support throughout a range of postures and activities.
It is available in a wide range of fabrics and colours, allowing us almost endless possibilities to customise the chair to complement the decor of any space. This versatility ensures that the ID Trim is not only a functional piece of office furniture but also an integral part of the office’s aesthetic identity. And it does not end there. Vitra offers a bespoke service for the ID Trim, allowing companies to match the chair’s upholstery with their brand colours.
