The Assignment
Forum fastighetsekonomi is a property development and property value assessment firm. They intended to move into a new office in Malmö, and they contacted us at escandi to create a new professional space that matched their brand and their business.

The Challenge
The big challenge for us was to create a modern workplace in a compact turn-of-the-century former residential apartment. These kinds of spaces often are plagued by acoustic problems. In this case, the overwhelming amount of natural light, particularly on a sunny day, also posed a challenge in this south-facing office, along with a disproportionate ceiling height contributing to an awkward spatial impression.

The Result
The oblong space is furnished with workstations from Montana and chairs from Vitra. To partially shield the office space from strong sunlight, we have used textiles from Astrid, and to soften the general impression further we have added a gallery rug from Bolon. The white sound-absorbing ceiling has been painted black to create visual layers, contribute to the feeling of space and visually divide the room into zones. The chairs used in the conference and kitchen spaces have been reupholstered in new fabric.

”When moving into a new office space, we hired escandi to create a welcoming and professional vibe. Despite its compact size, it feels good to enter the space.”
