The Assignment
Fanuc is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial robots. In 2019, we were hired by the construction contractor Pilotage as a full-line supplier to create a layout and choose finishes for the floors, walls and ceilings in Fanuc’s new Scandinavian office. Our assignment also included selecting furniture, textiles and other interior furnishings.

The Challenge
The office needed to be perceived as warm and inviting, while maintaining the industrial and purposeful design of the warehouse building that housed it. Fanuc also expressed a strong desire for the global brand to be manifested with a local Scandinavian connection.

The Result
Visitors to Fanuc’s new office are greeted by an austere but elegant reception in grey. Conceptual accent colours in red and yellow have been used for the company name and typographic elements. The look and feel of the offices have been softened with warm grey tones on the walls, in the bespoke carpeting from Bolon and in the furniture from Edsbyn. The printer room is painted in bright yellow, one of Fanuc’s vibrant brand colours. The conference rooms are screened off by floor-to-ceiling curtains from Astrid. Organic materials such as wood, stone and marble have also been incorporated to give the rooms a less formal feel.
