Mission
Venture capital company Falvir wanted our help in furnishing their new office in a turn-of-the-century apartment on Stortorget in the middle of Malmö. They wanted to create a truly welcoming, yet professional and representative space that reflects the company’s operations. The floor plan of the premises consists of a long, narrow hall and two large rooms with a total area of approximately 150 square metres.

Challenge
As is the case with many older corporate apartments, the large surfaces, increased ceiling height and beautiful but hard parquet flooring in Falvir’s new premises presented acoustic challenges that we needed to overcome. As well as introducing comfort, intimacy and functionality to the premises, we also had to combine pleasant social spaces and functional workspaces in the same room.

Results
To remedy the room’s acoustic issues, we worked with a lot of textiles – curtains, upholstered furniture and accessories. We also solved the company’s desire to have both workspaces and social areas in the same area by creating rooms within the room through clever placement of furnishings, including a large sofa from Gubi together with armchairs and tables from Menu. To create additional functionality, we used acoustic sofas from Muuto. The large conference room has a muted and luxurious tone and is crowned by a ceiling lamp from Gubi. We furnished the space with a lot of textile furniture from Menu and Gubi, and in front of the high windows, we hung curtains from Astrid. The workspaces consist of desks from SA furniture and work chairs from Vitra. the storage solutions come from Montana, and these were also used as sideboards and continuous storage and as hall furniture.
